Irish startup SolarMarine Energy got a $225,000 grant from the government last month to develop its floating solar technology. Details are scarce, but the company says it is developing both inshore and offshore platforms.

LYNBROOK, NY, FEBRUARY 12, 2019 – Indipro Tools, manufacturers of premium power solutions for digital and professional video applications, will unveil its new Fusion Dual V-Mount Battery Charger at NAB 2019 (Central Hall, Booth 11145). This two-channel lithium-ion charger features two independent charging bays and is capable of simultaneously charging two V-mount batteries at 2.5A each.

Tom Brennan, engineering manager at Sol-Ark, said that most inverters in home installations are grid-tied string inverters. They don’t work with batteries, but instead have to sell all the power they produce back to the grid.

DC-coupled systems easily qualify for the federal Investment Tax Credit, which is set to decline to 10 percent at the end of 2021 for FTM projects. However, while the ease of claiming the ITC may seem at first glance to be a main driver behind the rise of DC-coupled systems in the field today, DC coupling in the FTM market will continue to grow past 2021, according to the report.
